Day 24
Canning Vale, Parkerville, Mundaring, Kalamunda

Brian takes us on a trip today.  First to a few places around Canning Vale for his (part-time) job and then on to Parkerville.  Kevin used to stay there with his uncle and aunt and cousins.  They owned the general store and next to it is a creek where Kevin used to go around in a canoe.

Next we visit the Mundaring Weir Hotel where we look around and have a drink.  The Hotel was built at the time the Mundaring Weir was constructed.

Next, of course, is a drive to the Mundaring Weir itself.  It's an impressive dam and more impressive is the fact that from here a 300km pipeline transports water to Kalgoorlie.  The mining town would not have existed if it wouldn't have been for the pipeline and the transport of water to the town.  The pipeline we have seen earlier on after we left Coolgardie.

At around lunchtime we arrive at the Kalamunda Hotel where the three of us have lunch.  Also a beautiful old hotel, but well-kept and with more class than your average pub or hotel...
