Bunbury and surrounds

Friday, 23 September 2023

Nothing to report. No photos taken.  I think we stayed in to do some work on the computer, like preparing the monthly newsletter for the BSWs, sorting photos and other necessary tasks.

On Saturday we went into town to do our washing at the laundromat.  We needed more groceries as well, so off to Coles and Woolworths we went.  Two supermarkets, as both had different specials that we wanted.  When we had coffee at one of the shopping centres I spotted a macramé handbag, which I took a photo of to perhaps make it myself in my copious spare time... ;-)

Out and about again today.  To relieve the boredom of staying in one place we decided to do an Adventure Lab Cache, which requires you to just answer questions at certain locations instead of finding containers.  In between we visited Backbeach restaurant again for lunch and found a few more different wildflowers.  I will need a separate album for them... one day...  At one of the stops near the beach we recognised a motorhome, so we had a quick chat with owner Bethel, one of our Solo members.

#2429-2438 Australind Bunbury Tourist Drive 260 (Adventure Lab Cache)

A break for lunch at Backbeach Restaurant.

More of the Lab Cache photos, ten locations in all. This one went north of Bunbury along the Leschenault Estuary.

We also saw a few beautiful wallabies.  Judging by their dark colour they must be swamp wallabies.

On the way back we picked up a few more caches:

#2439 - Golden Ammo Can - Geotrakka - 5,000 finds (Traditional cache)

One of the noxious weeds: arum lilies

Timid Orchid

#2440 - Along Buffalo Road (Traditional Cache)

#2441 - Chicken or Vegetable (Traditional Cache)

Monday, 26 September 2022 (Public Holiday in WA)

As we are still stuck in the Isuzu yard because of the public holiday, we might as well go out again and enjoy ourselves instead of moping around in the motorhome... :-)

We start with lunch at Benesse where they have our favourite hot chips (with parmesan and chives) and delicious toasted sourdough bread with fruit and nuts.

Kevin likes the beach, so we are going to do an ALC along the beach front and maybe pick up a few traditionals as well. I didn't take many pictures.

#2442-2446 - Beaches of Bunbury (ALC 5 locations)

#2447 - BY193 (Traditional Cache)

Found and returned by Kevin

After this we have 2 DNFs.  I have actually had it with these boring nanos.  The town is full of them.  I rather go home and relax with a glass of wine! And so does Kevin... ;-)
