Day 32 Balcatta to Ferguson Valley |
Today we said goodbye to Brian & Meg and were on our way again. The next step was Williams, but we had morning tea along the roadside at Bedfordale. Following are a few photos taken on the way.
At Williams we met Louise Higham, the author of From Woodanilling to War, a book that Kevin had bought, because it mentioned his father and other family members. We had lunch while there and chatted for a while with Louise, who kindly allowed me to take a photo of her and Kevin.
After I had bought a jar of lanolin cream, which I had been in search for for months, and Kevin had shown Louise our motorhome, we drove to Wellington Dam to look at the beautiful mural on the dam wall. The mural was painted by lead artist Guido Van Helten and measures 8,000 m2.
Besides the photos we took I pinched one from the internet as well to have a full view of it:
#2415 - Wellington Dam Mural (Virtual cache)
On the road again we drove to Gnomesville, which Louise told us about. I had read about it, but forgotten. According to the information it contains over 5,000 gnomes. Again a picture from the website, followed by a few of ourselves.
#2414 - The Geo-Gnome Project (Traditional Cache)
And last but not least, we stopped at the Ferguson Valley Hall for the night, another free camp with public toilets available for travellers. (WikiCamps 33 25 53 S, 115 50 14 E)
