Ferguson to Bunbury

Day 33
Ferguson to Bunbury

We were going on to Busselton, but, as fate would have it, we were going nowhere in a hurry!  The motor wouldn't start.  Very unusual for a diesel engine, but there you go, the world is full of surprises. The RAC arrives to have a look:

According to him it is the fuel pump, but he can't determine it for sure.  We need to get towed to the nearest garage.  He will arrange that for us.  He said.  Five hours later we haven't heard or seen anything, so Kevin starts ringing around.

More hours later and we are both getting frazzled, because we are not getting anywhere.  Not one garage answers the phone!  Finally I get through to someone with a message and lo and behold, they ring me back!  It's a garage in Picton (Bunbury) and they will have a look on Saturday morning.  We need to get a tow though.

In the meantime Kevin has managed to get through to the NRMA, but the girl there is not very helpful either.  She gives all kinds of instructions, but it gets so complicated that she will contact a case manager, who indeed rings back later and is very helpful.  He also finds a tow company for us who will come to pick us up the following morning.

We get up early and are ready when the tow truck arrives.  It's a huge one, but of course our motorhome is not the smallest either.  Our Swaggie gets a trip to the Isuzu dealer in Picton and the driver gets us a taxi, because he can't take two people in the cabin.

This was quite different in 2011 in France, when a tow truck took us via hilly mountain roads and hairpin bends to La Bresse, with us in the camper on top of the tow truck.

At the dealer we get a cup of coffee and they take our details.  It's Saturday and they are really booked out, but one of the mechanics will have a quick look later to see what is going on.  We go back to the camper and later in the afternoon he has a look, tries various things, but can't find the problem.  We'll have to wait till Monday morning.  We do have the option to go somewhere else, as accommodation is included in our breakdown service (we are premium members), but we rather stay in the camper.  We have all our mod cons there and plenty of food.  We are also self-contained, so that's also a plus.  The sales manager will find out for us and when we get the okay we settle in for the weekend. And this is our exciting view:

Today is literally a day of rest.  We have our laptops, mobile phones, puzzle books and hobby material, so we keep ourselves occupied.
