| Bunbury to Cranbrook |
It's a while ago now since I have worked on my blog. Will try and write the rest from memory and the use of Polarsteps, WikiCamps and Google Timeline. They are soooo handy to have as a back-up. ;-)
We left Bunburry early in the morning for our two-day trip south. First stop was for a geocache along the roadside:

#2449 - Coal Cart (traditional cache)
Kevin noticed a huge open cut mine along the road so we stopped. It happened to be an earth cache as well. Plenty of wildflowers too.

Next stop is Wagin.
The 'Big Ram'
At Wagin Kevin attempted to move a huge concrete planter with our loan ute. This wasn't a great success... :-)
Thousands of Gazanias along the roadside
Next stop is Woodanilling. Kevin's dad had a bakery at Woodanilling and they lived here until they moved to Carnamah. The photo was taken on the block where the bakery used to be and Kevin remembered playing across the road near the church and poking in big ants nests...
This is the homestead, on the other side of Woodanilling, where Kevin's mother was born.
On to Katanning. Katanning is the place where Kevin was born, and lived till his parents moved back to Woodanilling. Only the wall of the old house is still standing. We had coffee at the Daily Grind.
And a traditional cache on the way to Kojonup.

We made a special trip to Myrtle Benn Flora & Fauna Sanctuary where we were told we would find the beautiful, but tiny, spider orchids. We did find them and so many others... This and earlier finds was what the trip was all about: seeing all the beautiful wildflowers, which we don't have anywhere else in the whole of Australia!
After our photo session with the wildflowers we arrived at Cranbrook Caravan Park after a quick stop at Nanna Vick's for some take-away dinner.
After an early dinner, but before sunset, we walk to the field behind the caravan park where we would find hundreds of wildflowers according to the caretaker. And we did! The picture with Kevin in it shows the field which, when you approach it, does not show its plethora of wildflowers. We kept taking photos...

Cranbrook to Bunbury
We had booked the above cabin for the night, so we had a good rest and nice hot shower before moving on again.
The place was well-appointed, modern and clean.
A brief stop at Denmark for a cup of coffee at Ravens.
Further south we make a detour to Ocean Beach and a few lookouts. At the first one I find a cache: Denmark Treasures - Ocean Beach. Part of this area is the calm water of the inlet before we reach the ocean.

We had booked the above cabin for the night, so we had a good rest and nice hot shower before moving on again.

At Ocean Beach Lions Lookout we find some more wildflowers...

We had wanted to see the Elephant Rocks, but it would have been a long hike in the middle of our first hot day. Instead we walked down to Waterfall Beach.
Lunch at Bow Bridge. Kevin accidentally kicked the dog. Not painfully hard! The dog came back and thought it safer to protect itself from being kicked again! 🙂
Rows of these flowers along the roadside. Three different colours. We have yet to find out what they are.
Arriving at the Valley of the Giants. We didn’t do the Tree-Top Walk and missed the Giant Tingle Tree (because it was a one-way sand track), but got some pictures while driving through the forest.

At Ocean Beach Lions Lookout we find some more wildflowers...

Visited the Pemberton Tramway, but were late for a possible tour.
We went to Café Basil instead for a cuppa. Wanted to try for a cache across the road, but a muggle was sitting on the grass just facing GZ. We gave it a miss.
A quick attempt at a cache here, but it would have taken hours.... We didn't have that long.
And then we are on our way back to Bunbury.
