10 Days Japan with U3A - Just Takayama

 Tuesday 9 April 2024

Breakfast at the hotel.  The group had opted for a Western Breakfast, but as you can see, it was presented in the refined Japanese way!

It is still raining and quite cold (13 deg C), so we went out briefly to buy our lunch at the Family Market.  For the rest, we spent time in the lobby playing a game of cards and doing some computer work in our room, sorting photos, and of course, updating PolarSteps.

When the rain definitely stopped in the afternoon, we went out again.  I attempted halfheartedly a few geocaches, but with no phone reception it is just not doable.

Braving the bitterly cold wind, onwards we went to the Town Experience Exchange Centre.  I had hoped to attempt a few workshops, but they were very exspensive, and there was no guarantee, of course, that any items I would have produced would survive in my suitcase.

On the way back to the hotel. we came across a temple of which we took some, photos.  Back in our room we warmed up with a lovely cup of coffee...

We had dinner at the hotel restaurant again. We loved yesterday's chips and salad, so we ordered the same again with a nice glass of wine.

The chips were spiced with something like lemon pepper, but it caused the strangest sensation of tingling lips and tongue... However, that disappeard straight after.
