A long weekend away with the BSW chapter of the CMCA. This time at Toogoolawah, roughly an hour and a half west of Bribie Island.
Not as many members as usual, but unfortunately we're all grey nomads and members pass away or are getting too old to travel and have to sell their motorhome. The club is not getting any bigger...
We spend the weekend as usual with morning and afternoon tea together for those who want to and also happy hour around the game of disc bowls. At night we love to play cards, mainly Hand and Foot or Bush Rummy. I have finally gotten my act together and had crafted a card holder from two CDs, which I had planned to do almost two years ago. ;-)
On Saturday morning we have a cooked breakfast, which is very welcome.
On Sunday, when most break up camp to go home, Patricia arrives to spend a few days together. In the afternoon we go for a drive in Patricia's camper to look around the area.
A few of the visiting members also stay on and together we drive into Toogoolawah to the pub for dinner and have a jolly good time. As I am writing this blog almost a month after the event I cannot remember the names of the people who joined us and I have forgotten to take note.
Since we have seen sky divers all day long on Saturday and Sunday we go for a drive the following day before we head home and visit the airfield from where the planes leave.
After we have seen a plane load of sky divers come down we leave the area and drive to Esk where we have lunch and then our ways part. Patricia goes on to a friend in Nanango and I return home.
Not too soon, as rain clouds are gathering and a rainbow appears in the sky. I manage to take a picture of the beautiful, but at a very low level, Somerset Dam, and make it home just before the rain comes down.
