Scotland - The Isle of Skye - part I

We arrive at Dunvegan late in the day, but manage to go for a short walk around the campsite and a short bike ride into the village.

It's raining the next day and not having suitable attire for a bike ride in the rain (and I do hate rain with a vengeance anyway!) I decide to stay at the camping, while Ankie, Dieuwer and Evelien go for a longer exploration of the area.  They return from a brief visit of a local castle and a small, local agricultural show.

The day after that we go for a drive around the island and visit a wool shop at Edinbane, have lunch along the roadside at Earlish near Uig, visit Kilmuir cemetery and surrounding cottages, drive past Duntulm Castle and The Old Man of Storr.  Picturesque Portree is also on our route. We walk around, have afternoon tea at a cafe in the centre and later dinner at the local Indian Restaurant before we return to our Dunvegan campsite.
