Caloundra revisited (2)

On The Rocks

On The Rocks

Close by was another cache, called On the Rocks.  I took it a bit too literally at first and looked on top of the rock wall, but was mistaken.  Didn't take too long to discover the real hide though.

Reserved on Springbrook

Remember this picture?  We suspected the cache was somewhere up there, but couldn't find it.  No wonder when you see the size of it...

Happy Heather doing her dance!

Reserved on Springbrook

Yes, it was somewhere up there.  Now to put it back again in the same spot...

And then it's lunch time.  Maccas is close at hand and from there we can do a few more caches that we need to turn into smileys.

The Eye In The Sky

The Eye In The Sky

A tricky one, this one!  Fortunately I'd seen this type of cache before, so it was easily spotted beneath The Eye In The Sky, which was a traffic or red light camera.

HUEY

HUEY

A cache near the local RSL, and even for a nano easily spotted (when you know where to look and what you are looking for...) :-)

The next few caches are all within walking distance from each other, so we leave the car where it is and go for a nice walk into a small bushland park and beyond.

Pobblebonk Billabong

Hard to see, but the little pond is in the centre

Pobblebonk Billabong

The Pobblebonk, or Scarlet sided Pobblebonk is a type of frog that seems to live in this billabong (= small pond), but today there was no sign of it by sight or sound.  We did find the cache though and that is what we came for.

Ben & Nic

Ben & Nic

There was no sign of this cache other than an empty sistema container without a lid.  We suspected that it had been muggled, but logged our find anyway with a note to the CO.  We inspected all the tree stumps in the surrounding area, but to no avail.

In the Rough

In the Rough

Still walking to all the caches.  What better to do on a nice, sunny winter's day.

This cache, on the edge of a golf course, was one of the hardest ones to find today.  We walked and walked around in circles.  Looked just about at the base of every tree in sight, but would not come up with the goods.

Read through all the logs.  Tried to visualise what people who found the cache had meant.  Still no luck.

Eventually Heather decided to P.A.F. and even then it took a lot of talking and sending pictures before we got the right spot and could finally log our find.  Can't even remember if the GPS was out or not, but it surely wasn't of much help under the tree cover.

2 Way Bridge

I can't say if this one was easy to find or not, because Heather ducked under the bridge for me (again)!  She handed it over for me to sign the log and replaced it again.  Because of all that I forgot to take a picture.

There also was a Munzee close by.  Since Heather collects them on the go, but doesn't go out of her way to get them, I thought I'd do the same.  Don't want to get hung-up about this too much though, because one can get too much of a good thing.  One game/activity to play to the full is enough for me.

To be continued...
